There are people who jump on the bandwagon and bash Tyler Perry and his movies. Its hard to imagine how people can do this considering the many different types of movies he's done. I am not a fan of  "Medea", I don't like the ENERGY of the character and the fact that Tyler Perry is trying to portray a woman, but there are several of his movies I do like.

Good Deeds is one of those movies. It is now on my list of movies Tyler Perry put out that I enjoyed..

I just finished watching Love Jones, one of my favorite movies from the 90's starring Lorenz Tate and Nia
Long. Words can't describe how the movie shows the change of ENERGY within this culture. I feel so blessed that I was able to grow up watching movies like "Love Jones", "Jason Lyric", "The Inkwell", "Love and Basketball", "Boomerang", "Strictly Business" and all the other Black movies that truly had the ENERGY of love in them.

These movies weren't saturated with "Bitch", "Hoe" or Black women are gold-diggers ENERGIES. Instead they portrayed the value of having a deep, soulful connection with another and displayed the ENERGY of trying to make a relationship work once you know you connect spiritually..

Darius, Lorenz Tate's character and Nina, Nia Long's character started their relationship with a "no-strings" attached attitude, but it blossomed into more. Though this was the case, I must warn women of this era about the actions of Nia Long's character Nina. The perception of Black women has changed in the eyes of Black men over the years, so Nina's actions could easily be misread and cause a woman to be stereotyped, Unfortunately there are many women who sleep around in this era indiscriminately., so doing so doesn't carry the ENERGY of the encounter being an exception.

Ice Cube to Make Another "Friday" with Chris Tucker, Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa to star in Movie "HighSchool"

I remember when I first saw the movie "Friday" I was out with a guy from school and we where watching a boring movie in one theater and decided to go upstairs into another theater and "Friday" was playing. We where so glad we made the switch it allowed us to have more fun together, the other movie was serious.

Of course this movie made Chris Tucker a budding star. In fact Chris Tucker made the movie period. Not to be mean to Ice Cube, he did write and produce it. But the way Chris Tucker played "Smokey" made it funny and we all love Chris Tucker's voice, it's one of a kind.

Why the Movie "Boomerang" Depresses Me

 This is an article off of my Black Energy News website. I've been really busy today and promise to post a new article shortly.  This article is one of  my archive favorites. It demonstrates how things have transition for the worst in this culture. It also emphasis's once again the importance of molding this culture through "No Support".

After so many years, yes it’s been 19, I can’t believe the direction this culture has gone in. “Boomerang” which came out in 1992 represents a time in Black culture when we seemed more determined to push forward, and break stereotypes and typecasting. A time when Black people wanted to develop a culture that represented our mental and physical progression coming out of the crack era.

What happened? How did things get WORST?

What happened to a time when we wanted to portray a sense of growth and mental maturity within our lives and relationships, despite what was churning behind the scenes in our communities?

Jail Culture ENERGY and the wrong sense of “Keeping it Real” is what happened.

It’s beyond my comprehension when I think of how we have allowed negative ENERGY to represent our culture.  We have created and supported a “dumb down” culture and despite the accomplishments of many successful Black people, it’s become a ball and chain this race cannot break away from.

It “boggles” my mind when I think of how many Black people think they WILL NOT wear the ENERGY of this culture. Sought of like, when Black men think they can simply put on a suit and escape the culture they evidently support, a culture they do not come against. God would not allow this. God would not allow Black people to escape the ENERGY of their actions.

Black people often talk about God for convenience, they refuse to access their problems and their ENERGY by thinking about God and this metaphysical world.

Why would God allow this race to have and support a culture such as this one without it seemingly extinguishing  more positive ENERGY? This results in a stain being on the image of it’s people?

Movie: Gun Hill Road

"Gun Hill Road" a film by Rashaad Ernesto Green Here's a movie I want to rep and encourage people to see for two reasons, 1) I'm from the Bronx and know the Gun Hill Road area very well. Not to many movies are made in this area, so it's cool to see Gun Hill Road on the map. 2) I like Esai Morales he's one of my favorite Hispanic actors. After the movie "La Bamba" I was hooked and always wished he would be given more acting roles through the years.

Now I haven't seen the movie myself, but the reviews for the movie have been good. I hope that the movie comes to North Carolina. After it's screening at the Sundance Film Festival the movie was quickly acquired for distribution. In the movie, Esai Morales's character is an ex-con who comes back home after doing 3 years in prison to find his family in shambles. He faces an estranged wife and a son who is having an identity crisis.

It's always wonderful to see movies that focus on a group of people who are often forgotten. There aren't many movies that highlight Hispanics and the trials and tribulations of their lives. Hopefully "Gun Hill Road" will reach my area, if not I will look for it on DVD.

Movie "The Help" Summons Aunt Jemima

Here's a movie I would die before seeing, a movie that is neither inspirational or uplifting to me. Supposedly the movie reflects the old south in the 60's and the relationships maids had with their masters owners bosses, but why can't it be kept in the history books or a fictional novel? After-all visual is such a powerful option. Are we trying to go from Michelle Obama down or are we trying to maintain that ENERGY for little girls, so they can have better dreams and aspirations? The depictions in the movie are of no use. It's bad enough little girls watch these reality shows today. Shows that show less then admirable Black women.

What could I possibly mean by this saying this depiction is of no use?, well let me give you an ENERGY summary of the movie.

In the movie we have a bunch of fat, Black female maids who work for White families because they are poor, ignorant and have no other options. The White girls are privileged, wear pretty clothes and can be told off all day by the Black maids in a righteous way and still be considered superior and feel the same. The White women basically ignore the feelings of the maids, but one White girl amongst the group decides to have sympathy and write about the maids experiences. First she must prove she cares, she must prove she's a good White person until the maids trust her and agree. She's on a mission to get others to have sympathy for those that can't help themselves and have to stay in the most disrespectful situations. lol

Just because the Black maids come across as being humble women with sassy, "I know you racist, I'mma point it out" attitudes doesn't make them worth watching. At the end of the day they are still just "good cooking, excellent baby watching Aunt Jemima's" who are so useful because they can be leaned on and their big bosoms validate that to all the little White children.

They cannot help but come across as pitiful, broken down, ugly women. Remember I talk about ENERGY, not idealism and what we wish people would see so don't be so quick to get offended. (I think Viola Davis is very attractive in everyday form.)

Meagan Good Takes What She Can

I'm sorry I just can't get with this race at times. I simply can't connect with Black people.

Sometimes I think we are slow and retarded. To do the same thing over, and over, and over again. And portray the same thing over, and over, and over again, is amazing to me. It's sad but amazing.

So here we have Meagan Good set to star in another typical same ole, same ole Black movie "Video Girl". Not only is the premise of the movie simple, but the title is too.

Sometimes I think this race lacks the capability of being creative and creating new art. It's the same crap. Same storyline and quite frankly, I am embarrassed, tired, and resentful to have to be tied to a seemingly simple race.

What's the storyline of the movie? Well, hold on to your seats it's gets complex.

Meagan Good plays a small town girl who moves to L.A. to become a video vixen.

Get the gun can I shoot myself now, or maybe the simple Black people who keep these story-lines going. Black people are boring to me, always have been. Those who have a vast, creative mind are disbursed amongst the community like little drops of water amongst waves.

Of course I haven't seen it, so all I can hope is that there is a message. Here's the problem though. People underestimate the impressionable simple mind. And impressionable, simple mind would not be able to get past what seems exciting about a scenario and they forget the rest.

A simple, impressionable mind all they see is looks, clothes, money. They feel that if they have those things, even though the other person fell, they will be able to make better moves and succeed.

They fail to realize that everything does not revolve around people. The Universe has laws of nature, and when you go against them the Universe has to put obstacles in your way. The Universe would never allow a woman to go into the life of being a provocative video girl, stripping or hooking without spiritual and/or physical consequences.

This is because that is not the path you where designed to take. That is not the path the Universe wants you to take, so there will be many obstacles of all forms. These obstacles are designed to hopefully wear you down, where it knocks you back on the path you should be on.

So most of the girls that enter into this life get caught up in all the ENERGIES that are strong in the environment. That includes drugs, alcoholism, prostitution and hustling. The Universe would never allow you to walk into an environments with strong negative ENERGIES without you absorbing them.

That's why I don't live around Black people in concentration now. It doesn't matter how nice I am or how much I try, if I am in an environment with those who don't I suffer from their ENERGY.

Anyway good luck to Meagan Good, it's sad she couldn't grow from "Eve's Bayou" but has to regress, but because we don't have an "Emerald City" what can we expect?. Ruby Dee being in this movie is another indication that we need to be able to supply better roles to Black actors.

Harry Potter Resists the ENERGY of his Culture

When it comes to alcohol and drinking, I don't think anyone can match the ENERGY of White people. That doesn't mean that White people drink more than any other race. It simply means they have the strongest ENERGY in the media when it comes to drinking.

I have seen White culture over the years go from the ENERGY of the movie "Animal House". To alcohol seeming to debilitate the culture to where White girls, are just passed out drunk waiting to be used. And White guys get drink to be able to do so.

 In "Animal House" the ENERGY of alcohol was just something college kids did while, laughing joking around and playing practical jokes.

In white culture and society now alcohol as become like a crutch. It's become something used to not only have fun and let loose, but alcohol is increasingly being used to function. And be able to "get wild".

Harry Potter makes this clear. Daniel Radcliffe recently came clean about his battle with alcohol and how it could have destroyed his career. I respect Harry Potter (Radcliffe) for not only being honest, but being honest about the fact that alcohol became his only way to function. I'm impressed that it only took him a few years to realize alcohol can change your life for the worst.

"I became so reliant on (alcohol) to enjoy stuff," he said in an interview to be published in GQ's August edition. "There were a few years there when I was just so enamored with the idea of living some sort of famous person's lifestyle that really isn't suited to me."

I want to go a little deeper into what he said, because it relates to all substance abuse.

Once you take a substance and link it to an activity, it becomes hard to enjoy that activity without the substance. At the same time the substance has a grip on it's host and will start to destroy the host and all that is in it's surroundings.

Wait, let me get even deeper.

Everyone thinks that the world revolves around only people and events. People don't realize that this world was designed by God in a metaphysical way at the beginning of time. Now having said that, people must realize that when you choose certain routes you are coming against this metaphysical world, not people. And because this world was designed where each person is to find their spiritual destiny, alcohol addiction does not fit in this equation.

When someone develops an addiction, the Universe will eventually make the addiction the persons misery. Why? because as I stated it's not part of their destiny. They are going against their destiny and what they where designed for. So all that can result is pain and obstacles. The pain and obstacles they experience are designed so that they will hopefully get back on their path to their true destiny.

I will talking about this more in future articles because drugs and alcohol has become an epidemic in Society due to it being heavily in the culture. People are making many connections with drugs and alcohol. There are people who could not have fun or enjoyable sex without being drunk or high. This is the consequence of falling into the trap of drugs and alcohol. Your body will crave it.

It seems fun, it seems wonderful, until your life spirals out of control. Until you bring misery to yourself and others. You will become frustrated, angry and lost because you don't want to be addicted. In your subconscious mind you don't want to be addicted you want to have control but don't have it. This causes frustration and a break down of the mind and soul.

Understand there aren't to many negative entities God and this Universe would allow someone to take to without suffering repercussions.  If this was allowed we would not find our spiritual path or progress in life.

I wish Harry Potter (Radcliffe) well. I think he's in a better position then most because he understands the connections people make with drugs and alcohol. He understands how alcohol can make you think things are more fun, but opens your life to destruction.

Some people never learn this and they become a walking disaster because God and this Universe makes sure that you not only suffer spiritually the repercussions but physically and emotionally.

Coming Against Spike Lee Until............

The feud between Tyler Perry and Spike Lee gets Ugly. Fed up with Spike Lee's criticisms, Perry says that "Spike Lee can go straight to hell".

Tyler Perry Spoke in Response to Spike Lee's attack

This is where the whole Spike Lee [thing] comes from -- the negativity, this is Stepin Fetchit, this is coonery, this is buffoonery, and they try to get people to get on this bandwagon with them, to get this mob mentality to come against what I'm doing. I've never seen Jewish people attack Seinfeld and say 'this is a stereotype,' I've never seen Italian people attack The Sopranos, I've never seen Jewish people complaining about Mrs. Doubtfire or Dustin Hoffman in Tootsie. I never saw it. It's always black people, and this is something that I cannot undo. Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. DuBois went through the exact same thing; Langston Hughes said that Zora Neale Hurston, the woman who wrote Their Eyes Were Watching God, was a new version of the darkie because she spoke in a southern dialect and a Southern tone.

I was ready to go full throttle at Spike Lee. Not because I jump the gun on these types of things but because I was going by the typical arguments against Tyler Perry. Most people attack Tyler Perry in a broad way. They don't distinguish the many different ENERGIES his movies offer.

I am so glad that I put away my distaste for Medea and gave his other movies a chance. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the variance in characters his movies offer. I particularly like "The Family That Prey's Together", "Why did I Get Married" and "For Colored Girls". All of those movies had a array of characters and one did not overpower the other.

We all know that Medea overshadows everyone and everything. lol Just another case of a Black man dressing up like a Black woman and playing out his subconscious view of a Black woman's ENERGY.

Back to Tyler and Spike Lee

As I said I was ready to attack Spike Lee not only because I like some of Tyler Perry's movies but because I'm sick of Black men fighting each other. It seems like Black men cannot come together, but instead would rather succeed and brag about it.

Or in this case, if I thought Spike Lee was being unreasonable it would be another example of a Black man tearing down another when they obtain prestige.

However in this case Spike Lee is right. For those who don't understand, Spike Lee is not attacking Tyler Perry's movies so much, particularly outside of Medea. He's attacking his T.V. shows.

And Gosh darn it! so am I

When I first saw a clip of each show, I couldn't believe my eyes. It was the most stereotypical thing I've seen in a long time. Both shows have two loud, fat Black people. One of the shows even has a wig wearing sister who the brother in law cracks on.

Maybe these shows would be funny if they where old syndicated shows and not new ones created in this day and age. I only question how much Tyler Perry stands behind these shows. Are they simply designed to draw in money? It's fair to question that because T.V. is a different ball game then movies. When a movie is made it's made. On the other hand syndicated shows survive based on their ratings. A T.V. show can be canceled at any time.

This could have subconsciously caused Perry to lower his standards and stick to a formula that gets results. After-all Black people love and support Medea and his T.V. shows. This fact is yet another opportunity to realize that Black people are dividing more and more each year. Many Black people will speak out against Tyler Perry as if we are being attacked by some strange force. When in reality Black people are simply drawn to what represents their character and the character of those they know.

Of course I must end this article by saying, though Spike Lee has a point it's very disturbing to see Black men argue before the world when this race is not in a position of self-sufficiency. We need many Black people in the position of creating. We need many Black people who have economical power and we definitely need those who are willing to help give other Black people a chance to succeed as Tyler has. Men of other races come together and pool their strength and money in order to build. Black men seem to build turn around use what he has built to brag, destroy and feel a sense of dominance over his brother. It's no wonder we have not built our "Emerald City".

I will continue to ignore Tyler Perry's Medea movies, but I am always interested in seeing what he might come up with next. I like the power Tyler Perry has accumulated and the last thing I would due is try to destroy this despite my not agreeing with all that he does.

Who's Excited About 'The Bodyguard' Remake?

Lol, lol I'm so mean, I just can't help it. My mean revolves around ENERGY and the truth. So I know there are many Black women who are or would be excited about this. Many of us have a craving to see more interracial couples involving a White man and Black woman. It's like "ah ha" to a Black man "we can do it too". lol, lol

And you know what there's nothing wrong with that I guess, one can only wish this was more genuine. I sometimes wonder how many Black women are dating or seeking White Men due to the state of this race, opposed to a genuine interest in them.

Anyway the movie studio heads have caught on to this "longing" ENERGY and decided to remake a movie that not only doesn't need to be remade, but it is a movie you wouldn't think would be remade.

Yes, the bodyguard was a hit, but it was a hit because of Whitney Houston. Without Whitney it could have been a "Lifetime" movie.

In the remake the producers and writers are trying for a different angle. In fact based on the plot I wonder how they will tag it 'The Bodyguard 2'.

In the remake, the story would be updated so that the man would be a former Iraqi war vet trying to protect his client against an Internet world, in which stalkers can track stars on Twitter, Gawker Stalker, Google Maps and countless other sites.

It sounds horrible, but maybe with with the right writers it might be entertaining.

I have the original on VHS and I plan on keeping it, protecting someone in an INTERNET world??? @#$% is wrong with Hollywood? you have all those writers but you can't come up with an original story?? I am an unpublished writer, I've been writing stories since I was 13 if you need new work, come find me!

Ugh.. just the headline made me sick to the stomach. Imagine that - Hollywood showing how they lost their imagination, their creativity, their inability to make original movies. I will not pay one cent to see this remake of a classic. The only time I will see it will be years later, when it's free on TV - if I'm bored and nothing else to watch. Hollywood is garbage.

How about an original script where a major motion picture company goes belly up because the general public gets sick of the unoriginal tripe that is palmed off on them as entertainment.

They say it's too earlier to announce the actors of the movie, maybe depending on who they pick it will change the way people feel. Hopefully they will understand that when they read the comments about this remake early on.
